Scholarships for Overseas Students

To help overseas students’ participation (i.e. outside Europe (continent and islands)), we are offering 3 scholarships to the best abstract selected by EABA, based on the novelty and quality of the work on microalgae and seaweeds. The scholarship consists in Registration fees and hotel stays, covered according to YAS affiliations, for the winners.

Please follow the instructions on our website to prepare the abstract.

Proof of enrollment to an overseas University for the current year will be required to apply for this scholarship.

How to do it:

1) Submit the abstract through the registration form by choosing “Yes” for “I would like to present a poster” and enclose it as an attachment.

2) Select “Yes” as an answer to both questions “Are you an overseas/non-EU student?” and “Are you applying for the scholarship offered to only overseas students?

3) Attach the enrollment proof.

4) Done!

The DEADLINE for abstract submission is the 29th of February (CST midnight) to apply for the Overseas Students Scholarships.

FAQS - Scholarships for Overseas Students

1. Who overseas students refer to?

MSc, PhD candidates or students who will enrol or have been enrolled for the

current year in a university outside Europe (continent and islands).

2. Should the enrolment be written in English?

It is preferred, but not obliged.

3. Can I apply to the scholarship if I am enrolled at a University in the UK?

No.

4. When can I know if I win the scholarship?

We will keep you informed as soon as we have the result (approximately one month after the deadline)

5. Should I register if I win the scholarship?

We recommend you register as soon as possible. We can refund the registration fee afterward if you get the scholarship. But, if you don’t get it, you won’t miss the early bird benefit. Besides, you need to register for the “Welcome Dinner” if you wish to participate.

6. If I don’t get the scholarship, and I missed the early bird registration deadline, can you offer a code to retain the early bird registration?

7. Which hotel will be included in the scholarship?

This information will be delivered much in advance before the conference starts.

8. How many nights will be covered?

From the 26th until the 30th of May, additional nights are at the participants’ own expenses.

9. Is the “Welcome Dinner” covered by the scholarship?

No, this cost is at the participant's own expense.

10. Will transportation costs (e.g. flight tickets) be covered for scholarship winners?

No, this cost is at the participant's own expense.

11. Can you provide a certificate for the scholarship winners?

Yes, we will provide it after the event.
