Anthea Oestreicher - Multidisciplinary Designer and Artistic Researcher
Anthea Oestreicher (PhD candidate at ZHdK Zürich, CH and UFG Linz, AUT) is an multidisciplinary designer, and artistic researcher. With a diploma in visual communication (h_da Darmstadt, 2017) and an M.A. in Design & Future Making (HS Pforzheim, 2022) she uses as a tool to explore the entanglements between systems and living beings. Navigating the boundaries of art, science, and the humanities, her main interest lies on plankton, both within and beyond the scientific realm.
Her research exemplifies how art, design and their methodologies can reveal and intervene in these complex interactions. Through participatory experiences, video works, crafts, and written pieces, she demonstrates her commitment to advancing our understanding of the sympoeitic relationships that shape the world. Utilizing creative design approaches she searches for ways to wit(h)ness and vegetalize sensory perceptions to engage with these vital entanglements.
At YAS25, Anthea will show for the first time her newest Video-Installation: “Who has known the ocean?”.
