If you're planning to join the YAS conference in Wageningen, Netherlands, there are several convenient ways to get there, whether you prefer flying, taking a train, or carpooling. Here’s a quick guide to the nearest transport options:


1. Nearest Airports:

Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) airport is the closest airport to Wageningen, and it is the main airport of The Netherlands. Other nearby airports are: Eindhoven (EIN) and Rotterdam (RTM) airports in The Netherlands, and Weeze and Düsseldorf in Germany.

If you arrive at Amsterdam (Schiphol) Airport (AMS), you can take the train to Ede-Wageningen station. Trains with Nijmegen as final destination will stop at Ede-Wageningen. The train ride will take 1 hour. Once at Ede-Wageningen station you can take bus 103, 303 or 86 which all go to Wageningen center and take 20 minutes. If you arrive atEindhoven Airport (EIN)you need to take the bus (#400) to Eindhoven central train station. From there take the train to Utrecht Centraal and from there to Ede-Wageningen (train direction Nijmegen). The whole journey will take 2 hours. Once at Ede-Wageningen station you can take bus 103, 303 or 86 which all go to Wageningen center and take 20 minutes. If you arrive at Rotterdam (RTM) Airport. You need to take the bus (#33) to Rotterdam central train station. From German airports:

Weeze Airport (NRN): Take bus SB46 to Nijmegen (1 hour). Once in Nijmegen take the train to Ede-Wageningen (direction Den Helder).  Once at Ede-Wageningen station you can take bus 103, 303 or 86 which all go to Wageningen center and take 20 minutes. Düsseldorf Airport (DUS):Take the train from the airport to Arnhem (stoptrein RE19). From Arnhem take the bus (#352) to Wageningen. Buses and trains within The Netherlands are paid by checking in and checking out from them with a debit/credit card. Total travel time is 2.5 hours.


2. Train Option:

Wageningen has no train station of its own. But the station Ede-Wageningen is only 20 minutes away from the center of Wageningen. International trains (i,e. Deutsche Bahn) pass through several main Dutch cities: Arnhem, Amsterdam, Amersfoort, Utrecht which are all connected to Ede-Wageningen. For trains we recommend checking the http://www.ns.nl/en/ website. If coming by train from abroad, then the international website: https://www.nsinternational.com/.  From those cities cited above, it is easy to then get the train to Ede-Wageningen station and/or bus to Wageningen center. 3. Bus Services:

Buses connect Wageningen to main cities. From the train station Ede-Wageningen you must take bus 103, 303 or 86, and from Arnhem bus 352. Public transportation in The Netherlands can easily be checked on this website: 9292.nl 

FlixBus has good connections to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and many Flixbuses stop at major Dutch cities: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Arnhem and Nijmegen. From those cities, it is easy to then get the train to Ede-Wageningen station and/or bus to Wageningen center. 4. Transport Ticket

Wageningen, as the rest of the Netherlands, is an extremely bike friendly city. Being such a small city, it is easy to get around by bike. Upon registrations participants will be asked whether they would like to have a bike for their stay in Wageningen. 

For people that will prefer other methods of transportations, there are buses running constantly from the center to the university campus. The duration of the trip is 10 min to Campus, or 20 min to the city center. Buses and trains within The Netherlands are paid by checking in and checking out from them with a debit/credit card.


5. Parking

For those traveling by car, you can park for free at Wageningen University campus.


6. Shuttle Service
