Where everything started…
The 1st edition of the Young Algaeneers Symposium was held in Wageningen, the Netherlands, from 14 to 16 June, 2012. This symposium was organized to give voice to the Youngs. YAS was a stage to discuss results in an informal interactive atmosphere, giving researchers from different disciplines the chance to mingle and come up with new idea for the microalgae world.
Around 120 young algaeneers from 22 different countries gathered in Wageningen to learn and discuss ongoing research on algae field. In this edition, the young algaeneers also had a visit to the AlgaeParc pilot facility where they could see the bridge between fundamental science and industry.
After the tour at AlgaeParc, the attendees enjoyed an amazing barbecue! A great opportunity to meet new young algaeneers and socialise!
